Description
More lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) people are now open about who they are but fear, violence and discrimination remain high, show the results of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency’s (FRA) survey on experiences of LGBTI people in Europe.
FRA will highlight how the Survey data can support European and national strategies to improve the situation of LGBTI people in Europe. A representative of the European Commission will introduce the LGBTI Strategy and its goals and objectives. The third speaker, co-chair of the European LGBTI Focal Points Network, will elaborate how LGBTI policies are taking shape at the national level. The 4th speaker is a representative from Montenegro civil society, explaining their efforts towards creating a national platform on LGBTI issues and the importance of research data, EU policies and support by Intergovernmental Organisations.
