For the first time ever EuroGames and WorldPride have merged into one global mega event – Welcome to Copenhagen 2021!

When you sign up as an athlete for EuroGames, you will automatically be part of Copenhagen 2021, meaning you are signing up for a lot more than sports.

We are offering you a program packed with sports, culture, human rights, social events, parties, and Pride.

You will be part of a unique experience, including professionally organized tournaments, a grand EuroGames Opening Ceremony where you will take the stage along thousands of other athletes, the chance to witness a remarkable show, and running the Mile of Pride. You will get access to our Sports Village, and you will get the opportunity to participate in a lot of extraordinary happenings throughout your stay. This includes joining the WorldPride Parade with all the EuroGames athletes and around 60.000 other participants while 750.000 spectators will show their support.

Practical information

The field hockey tournament will take place Tuesday, August 17 to Friday, August 20, 2021 at the great facilities of Valby Sports Park in Copenhagen. A more detailed program for the tournament will follow.

The tournament offers competition for female-identified and male-identified teams.

The maximum number of players on a team is 18. The primary rounds will be played according to the pool system, and the final round will be for places.

The field hockey tournament will be judged according to the rules of the International Hockey Federation. You can find them here.

Registration

Registration opens autumn 2020. The participation fee for EGLSF-members is 90 Euros and 120 Euros for non-members.

When you sign up as an athlete for EuroGames 2021, you will have plenty of benefits and offers at Copenhagen 2021.

Venue

The tournament will take place at Valby Sports Park in Copenhagen. The venue contains several sports facilities. Besides field hockey courts, it contains 25 football fields (both artificial and field grass), three sports courts at Valby Hallen and Gammel Valby hal with one sports court. The venue is 15 minutes from downtown Copenhagen by public transport and approx. 20 minutes by bike.

Valby Sports Park will also host tournaments in football, floorball, and volleyball. Next to the football courts, you will find Hafnia Hallen which is the venue for the beach volley tournament.

At Valby Sports Park you will find Vandkulturhus which contains a 25-meter swimming pool and a wellness area with infrared sauna, panorama sauna and an aroma sauna. It is public and will be possible to use against (a fair) payment.

Organizers

Copenhagen 2021 is organizing the tournament in cooperation with Pan Idræt’s Field hockey team, Black Swans.
