LGBTQI+ and with a migrant background: How attainable are safe(r) spaces?

Break Out Session Round #2

Description

LGBTQI+ people perceived as being from a migrant background, face multiple intersecting discriminations and often end up having limited access and sometimes no access at all to essential urban services even within LGBTQI+ organizations. Aïda Yancy [she/her] will present the Equalcity LGBTQI+ toolkit offering guidelines, training and an awareness raising strategy to help frontline workers of urban services make their spaces safer. This toolbox built on an intersectional approach is especially relevant to those who focus on sexual and gender based violence, the LGBTQI+ community, and/or who intend to provide safer spaces for (multi-)marginalized people.
