This flag was designed by Daniel Quasar in 2018. It includes a black and brown stripe to represent LGBTI+ people of colour and incorporates the colours of the transgender flag. The Progress Pride Flag became widely used in the #BlackLivesMatter protests that followed the murder of George Floyd.
The eight colours of the original Pride Flag represent
- Hot pink – Sex
- Red – Life
- Orange – Healing
- Yellow – Sunlight
- Green – Nature
- Turquoise – Magic/Art
- Indigo – Serenity
- Violet – Spirit
Later the hot pink stripe was dropped as fabric in that colour was not readily available. And the turquoise and indigo was replaced with blue.
