World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year with the aim of raising awareness of mental health issues globally, and for LGBTI+ people this is especially important!
Did you know that
◾ LGBTI+ people are at more risk of suicidal behaviour and self-harm than non-LGBTI+ people
◾ Gay and bisexual men are four times more likely to attempt suicide across their lifetime than the rest of the population
◾ LGBTI+ people are 1.5 times more likely to develop depression and anxiety compared to the rest of the population
◾ More than one in four trans young people have attempted suicide and nine in ten have thought about it.
