WorldPride March

COVID19 restrictions mean that we couldn’t hold the anticipated WorldPride Parade running from Frederiksberg to Copenhagen. But restrictions couldn’t stop our visibility or our activism, though, and we took to the streets in several WorldPride Marches on Saturday 21 August.

12,000 participants from LGBTI+ groups and organisations, political and civil society leaders and international guests took part, including Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen (below).

Six Marches

There were six marches, each starting at a different point in Copenhagen, and all meeting at Fælledparken where participants joined the Copenhagen 2021 Closing Ceremony with live music, speeches and entertainment.

The marches began at different times between 1500 and 1600, and the routes were between 2km and 3.7km in length. These timings and routes were designed to ensure that the marches arrived at Fælledparken at different times.
