Program Summary: Friday 13 August

Highlights of our program for the second day of Copenhagen 2021

Program Summary: Friday 13 August

Please note: This page is only a summary of the program for this day. The full program, of more than 1,000 events between 12-22 August, can be found in our app.

Our events

1200-2300: WorldPride Square, Location: Rådhuspladsen, Copenhagen (daily until 21 Aug). Rådhuspladsen, outside City Hall, is transformed into WorldPride Square, the hub and focal point of all our activities for the next eleven days. Our superb street food market is complemented by our bars, retailers, and the All Out Photography Exhibition together with live performances, talks and events.

1200-2400: Fluid Festival, Location: Gammel Strand, Copenhagen (pictured above) (daily until 21 Aug). Fluid Festival is a celebration of women, genderqueer and non-binary identities and blends live music performances with speeches, debates, poetry and more. More than 100 artists perform over the nine-day Festival. Relax on our rafts in the canal with drinks from our bar and food from our vendors.

1100-1600: Marie 🖤 Emilie: Queering the Collection, Location: Den Hirschsprungske Samling, Copenhagen (12-15 & 18-22 Aug). Were there ‘rainbow’ (LGBTI+) families back in the old days? Was it possible to be queer and still express yourself creatively? At the Hirschsprung Collection, we can confidently answer ‘yes’ to both questions. The small exhibition about Marie Luplau (1848-1925) and Emilie Mundt (1842-1922) shows works of art acquired by the museum in recent years. They enable us to tell the story of a creative and loving same-sex artist couple who raised a daughter together and fought for equality in art and in life.

1300-1800: Psychopathia Sexualis, Location: Overgaden, Copenhagen (13-15 & 17-22 Aug). The exhibition is a large, international group exhibition – with both art, cultural-historical documents and live images from, for example, 1980s and 1990s sex education campaigns – about the relationship between illness, sex, gender, desire and lust.

1500-1800: Test & Bubbles, Location: AIDS Fondet Checkpoint, Copenhagen. Visit Checkpoint at AIDS Fondet by for a glass of sparkling goodness and a test and get ready to a week of party! No appointment necessary.

1700-1800: Can sexuality become a place to belong? Location: Copenhagen Main Library. We have invited the two authors Aaiún Nin and Niviaq Korneliussen to participate in a talk about gender, identity, borders and representation in literature, from Greeland and Angola to Denmark.

1930-2300: Inkonst Under the Rainbow, Location: Inkonst, Malmö (until 21 Aug). Inkonst opens up during WorldPride. Hang out, make out and mingle. Art exhibition and bar in daytime. A twelve-hour rave. Concerts, entertainment, talks and stage art in the evenings. And queer DJ’s until the night falls.

1930-2300: Film premiere Prince of Dreams, Location: St Johannes Church, Malmö. Prince of Dreams by Jessica Nettelbladt is the opening film at WorldPride in Malmö. “Erik, age 27, is on a pilgrimage on foot from Rosengård in Malmö to the world’s end, Cape Finisterre. Erik struggles with gender dysphoria and a past full of isolation and vulnerability”.

2100-02:00: Pub night: Underwear & Naked party, Location: SLM Malmö. SLM Malmö is a membership club for men who like men and male fetishes. You can become a member when you visit the club. This night the dress code is underwear and naked!

Volunteer with us!

Our theme is #YouAreIncluded and our volunteers are called Includers.

Whatever your skills and experience, we have a role for you. It could be in one of our bars, helping guests, registering athletes, or working in our communicaitons centre.

Roles are available in Copenhagen or Malmö throughout the event, and all we ask is for a minimum of 12 hours help. In return we promise free merchandise, meals and refreshments, and the opportunity to make new friends and learn new skills!
